If you have extra time while visiting, check out Hakone Museum of Art and Hakone Meissen Antique Museum. Walking in to Gora Kadan was a bit like stepping back in time in Japan, but with modern amenities and impeccable service. The meals were delicious, the baths other-worldly, and our personal host Ryo was helpful, polite and a wonderful guide to the ryokan experience.
